FEBRUARY 2012
Love ... Love ... Love ... and the greatest of these is LOVE!
What a privilege to be loved, to be regarded, to be cared for and appreciated. How often do we take the love of others for us for granted. Take a moment to think of the love (patience, kindness, respect, willingness to help, not demanding, keeping no record of wrong, just, truthful, full of faith, hopeful, enduring) others have shown towards you!
I am so humbled by the love others have bestowed on me. It makes me realize that GOD IS ALIVE, because He is true love, unselfish or self seeking!
1 John 4:7-10 (MSG) My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. The person who refuses to love doesn't know the first thing about God, because God is love—so you can't know him if you don't love. This is how God showed his love for us: God sent his only Son into the world so we might live through him. This is the kind of love we are talking about—not that we once upon a time loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to clear away our sins and the damage they've done to our relationship with God.
While chatting to my sister this week, we were talking about our husbands, how blessed we are to have such wonderful, godly, sincere, kind, faithful, loving men. What a blessing Mark is! (If you don’t have a husband, ask and trust God for a godly one!)
Whether or not you have a husband, pray for the men in your life (father, husband, brother, son, Pastor, President, boss) that they will be led by the Holy Spirit, that they may come to know Jesus as Lord of their lives, that they may love His Word and be hungry to fulfill God’s plan for their lives. INTERCEDE for them to become righteous men who will stand for integrity and truth!
Pray for your husband - God's will not your will. Pray that he is led by the Holy Spirit. Pray that if he is any otherwise minded than he should be that the Lord reveals it to him. Do what you do for your husband out of respect & honor, not out of duty. Ephesians 5:33 - reverence your husband as you do the Lord - show respect and honor. Even if he doesn’t behave respectably, respect him out of honor to God! Celebrate your husband! Create a desirable environment - a clean house and a good atmosphere. Create an environment of peace, even when he is not there, by praying for him and talking honorably about him and to him. If you want to FIX a situation, it is BEST to pray about it before you even speak to the person - you may even have to soften your own heart, perhaps repent and forgive first :-).
Ecclesiastes 10:20 (MSG) Don't bad-mouth your leaders (king, husband, boss, father, pastor, president), not even under your breath, And don't abuse your betters, even in the privacy of your home. Loose talk has a way of getting picked up and spread around. Little birds drop the crumbs of your gossip far and wide.
Keeping a good attitude towards your husband and being respectful keeps you attractive. Celebrate him and PRAY THE WORD FOR HIM! This comes from an overflow of your love for the Lord. The more you love God and His Word, the more capacity you will have to love others. It is your business to pray earnestly that the Holy Spirit will clothe your husband with power to make his words like dynamite as he speaks God’s words.
I remember Dr. Avanzini sharing about his life. At a time when he was down, his precious wife, Pat, prayed in intercession for him. She spoke the Word over him and to him. He said he didn’t believe her, but the more she spoke, the more he embraced God’s Word about himself. That brought him through and made him an overcomer!
PRAY FOR YOUR HUSBAND, SPEAK THE WORD - IT COULD CHANGE YOUR LIVES!
LOVE WILL LAST FOREVER - SHARE GOD’S LOVE!
