AEROBIC EXERCISE HELPS IMPROVE MEMORY

I just read an article that declared “regular aerobic exercise improves mental function and prevents cognitive decline.” The research is being conducted by Arthur Kramer at the University of Illinois. His study was done with people between the ages of 60-80 years old. The group was divided into two. One group did aerobic exercise 45 minutes a day, three days a week, mostly brisk walking. The second group just did stretching and toning exercises. After 6 months they found a significant increase in the volume of brain cells in the region of the brain involved in relational memory. It is the kind of memory that seems to be less reliable as we age. So…studying is not the only thing that will keep your memory sharp….. Exercise will help too.
