There are lots of fun things you can do with and for others this month. Of course, the weather makes everything nice. Many of these ideas can be done outdoors. Be creative. Have fun enjoying friends and family and reaching to others. Here are some ideas that I hope will help you.

Since it is Great Outdoors Month camp out with family or friends. Go to a campground or out in your backyard. If it is in your backyard, you can make a makeshift tent with sheets and tables and chairs from around the house or you can sleep out in the open without a covering. Cookout; make S’mores with the grill coals; sit in a circle and tell stories and play games, like Hide and Seek, Ghost in the Graveyard, Red Light Green Light; (We used to play these games for hours in front of our house when I was little.) catch lightning bugs (fireflies); lay on the grass to look at the stars and find the Big and Little Dipper.

June 6 marks the 77th anniversary of the first drive-in theater. Host a movie night in your backyard. You can rent a big screen, projector and speakers or if you have a decent-sized TV, set it up in your backyard. Invite neighbors, friends &/or family. Since it’s a drive-in, ask people to bring sack dinners or make sandwiches for everyone. Have small bags of snack foods and drinks available. Of course, make plenty of popcorn. Serve it in Ziploc bags, bowls or cardboard popcorn containers. You can watch the movie on the ground and sit on blankets, set up chairs (If you do not have enough chairs, ask people to bring one for each person coming with them), or set up café tables and chairs for people to eat at and watch the movie. Be sure to have citronella candles, bug spray or Skin So Soft by Avon to help ward off mosquitoes.

National Ice Tea Month is also in June. If you can afford it, how about going to a busy corner with canned or bottled ice tea. Keep it cold in a cooler and give it to people as they pass by. You could also do this with bottled water. You can do this just to be nice or to get used to approaching people or you can share the gospel by taping or rubber banding a tract to it. Another idea is to have your children make an ice tea stand on your block or have an ice tea party instead of a hot tea party.

Roses are always lovely. Purchase some roses at your local grocery store or florist because it is National Rose Month. Just outside the store or at another store give a flower to each woman who comes out of the store. Be sure to cut off the thorns. A tract can be added to it with a string, if you like. Buy a dozen roses for a widow, single mom, single woman, or someone you know who could use a little thoughtfulness. Give a rose to each woman in your office.

June 13 is Weed Your Garden Day. How about blessing someone by weeding their garden for them?

The Invasion of Normandy

June 6, 1944

This invasion established Allied forces in Normandy, France, during Operation Overlord in World War II. The initial landings occurred June 6, 1944, and continued until mid-July. It was the largest sea borne invasion at the time, involving over 850,000 troops crossing the English Channel from the United Kingdom to Normandy, by the end of June 1944. The total number of troops that landed on D-Day was around 150,000. By July 4th, one million men had landed. Over 10,000 men from the Allied Forces were wounded, missing, captured, or killed during this time. Between 4,000-9,000 Germans were wounded, captured, or killed.

Through this one battle, we all should see that there has been a huge price paid for our freedom. Demonstrate your gratitude by not taking your freedom for granted and by working hard to keep it. By all means, thank a vet or someone you know who is currently in the military.

Flag Day

June 14

It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened that day by resolution of the Second Continental Congress, in 1777. (Taken from www.wikipedia.org)

Make flags out of paper and crayons, or construction paper or paint. Hang flags from your house. Teach your children the Pledge of Allegiance and the Star Spangled Banner.

Father's Day

June 19

Celebrate your Dad &/or a man who has had input into your life.

Super Sloppy Double Dare Party

June 26

This is an outdoor party. You'll need lots of chocolate pudding. Here are the games you can play.

Musical Chairs with Chocolate Pudding
On each chair place a paper plate with a chocolate pudding on it. Play Musical Chairs.

Find the Grape Game
Divide the group into teams. Have a plate prepared for each team with a layer of grapes, chocolate pudding on top of the grapes, whipped cream on the pudding. Players should take turns running to the plate and with hands behind backs lean over to get a grape with their mouth. Once they have the grape, players run back and tag the next player. Play continues until the first team finishes.

Chocolate Pudding Water Balloon Game
Divide the group into teams. Make water balloons for each player. Cover balloons with chocolate pudding. Have one member of each team stand in a large trash bag. Teams stand at a line and throw the balloon at them so it goes into the bag unbroken. The team with the most unbroken balloons wins.

Traditional Egg Toss
Each player needs a partner. One member of each team gets an egg. Two line are formed. Eggs are tossed with ref gives signal to the other side. Each side takes one step back. Tossing continues until only one team remains.

Hose everyone off and throw them in the pool, if you have one, or run under the sprinkler.

Gay and Lesbian Pride Day

June 29

This is a worldwide movement and philosophy asserting that lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals should be proud of their sexual orientation and gender identity. Gay pride advocates work for equal “rights and benefits” for LGBT people. The movement has three premises: that people should be proud of their sexual orientation and gender identity, that sexual diversity is a gift, and that sexual orientation and gender identity are inherent and cannot be intentionally altered. Marches celebrating Pride are held worldwide. (Taken from www.wikipedia.org)

It is our job as Christians to not judge these people, but to win them. We should pray for them and share the gospel with them. We should also take a stand for our rights as heterosexuals and be proud of who we are.

The Word of God is very specific concerning homosexuality:

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.
Romans 1:20-27, NKJV

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God
1 Cor. 6:9-10, NKJV

The Law was written for people who are sexual perverts or who live as homosexuals or are kidnappers or liars or won’t tell the truth in court. It is for anything else that opposes the correct teaching.
1 Tim. 1:10, CEV

What happened to Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities near them is an example for us of the punishment of eternal fire. The people of these cities suffered the same fate that God’s people and the angels did, because they committed sexual sins and engaged in homosexual activities.
Jude 7, God’s Word Translation

HOST A SUPERMAN PARTY
June 30

Invitations
Send out Superman invitations.

Attire
Encourage guests to wear red, yellow and blue, a Superman outfit or cape, or a suit with tie (shirt tucked in, of course). Girls can dress up like Lois Lane.

Decor
Decorations should be red, yellow and blue. Also have newspapers, dark-framed glasses, an old typewriter, if possible, kryptonite, old Superman pictures and his villains, big city skyscrapers made of paper rolls or construction paper, Superman balloons...

Food

**Superman Cake: Bake a 9X13" sheet cake according to package directions. Create an outline of Superman's emblem and trace it on top of the cake. Frost sections of the cake accordingly.

As an alternative, you can bake a round cake, and then place Superman cake toppers in the center.

**Superdillas: For this Superman party recipe, you'll need whole wheat tortillas, grated cheese, grilled or stir-fried onions and peppers. You'll also need a sample of Superman emblem, pencil, heavy paper, craft scissors, food coloring marker, kitchen scissors and a cookie sheet.

Create a template of the emblem from the heavy paper, sized smaller than a tortilla. Trace around the template onto the first tortilla, using a food coloring marker. Cut out the emblem with kitchen scissors.  Layer cheese and vegetables on the second tortilla and add "S" to the top. Bake on cookie sheet in preheated oven at 300°F until cheese is melted (approximately 5-10 minutes).

**Super-Cookie: Prepare your favorite cookie recipe and form a giant dough ball. Spray a baking sheet with vegetable oil, and place the ball on it. Shape into a large diamond-shaped Superman emblem about 1/2" thick. Bake at least 5-10 minutes longer than recipe instructs, checking periodically. Test with a toothpick to make sure the center is cooked.
When cool, carefully slide onto a large tray or foil-covered cardboard. Frost the cookie gold, then use red frosting to outline the diamond and form a large "S". If you wish, use decorator gel to write "Happy Birthday" message, too.

**Supersicles: For this Superman birthday party recipe, you'll need the following ingredients: 12 oz cherry juice, 12 oz white grape juice, 1 banana, sliced into 8 thick pieces. You'll also need 8 small paper cups, 8 Popsicle® sticks, foil (cut into small squares to cover tops of cups) and a baking pan.

Mix cherry and grape juice together and fill 1/2 to 3/4 of each cup. Drop a banana slice into every cup, then insert Popsicle stick into banana so it stands up. Next, make a slit through the center of each foil square. Cover cup with foil, allowing stick to pop through slit.

Place cups in the baking pan (to create a level surface and to catch spills) and put in freezer for at least 4 hours, or until solid. Before serving, peel away the paper cup and foil.

**Super-Sundaes: To prepare this Superman birthday party desert, you'll need blueberries, raspberries, sliced strawberries, vanilla or berry-flavored yogurt or ice cream, and raspberry sauce.

Alternate layers of fruit and yogurt in bowls or clear cups. Finish with fruit and a drizzle of sauce.

**Super Pizza: Cut pizza slices in "S" shapes.

Games
• Play “Pin the ‘S’ on Superman’s cape
Make a Superman obstacle course
Have a best villain laugh contest to see who has the scariest, most wicked sounding laugh

Team game: Divide the group into two teams. Have two bags of the same type of clothes for Superman to change into (It can be clothes to be Superman or to change into Clark Kent.) One member of each team runs to the bag and puts on the clothes then runs back to the team and takes the clothes off and puts them in the bag. The next player takes the bag of clothes and does the same thing, until each member of the team has had a turn. The team who finishes first, wins.

Favors
Have red, yellow and/or blue party favor bags. Fill them with candy, superman stickers, Superman comic books, green glow sticks (kryptonite), super hero masks, rubber balls…
