With the plethora of products, tips, techniques and step-by-steps that are available to us gals, we actually only need what is helpful and practical to us. Use these tips as they pertain to you and the image you want to put forth.
Tips and Advice
HAIR
Oh Fabulous hair! Some have more, some have less. It is your crown and your responsibility to polish it! Be reasonable. Do not think your hair is going to style like a model’s. Seek out a stylist who can teach you how to work with your hair. There are great stylists at all different price points. When you get the cut down, you can rock out some color.
SKIN
Our skin is our canvas. You must cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize with SPF at all ages after 12. You wouldn’t paint without primer, would you? You’d fill in the cracks first too, right? I hope you would. Whatever the skin issue there is someone or some product to help. Anti-aging and acne skin issues are the two biggest. If you cannot see the difference with at home use, you may need to see an esthetician or dermatologist.
It is always a good decision to seek assistance after about 30 to head off future problems. Proper planning insures success!
EYEBROWS
What is the instant facelift? Groomed eyebrows! They can age you more than the wrong lipstick. Some women are actually oblivious to all the extra facial hair they have. When I wax a client’s eyebrows for the first time, I like to stop and show them the difference. Most women have a light bulb moment. They see the roadkill just hanging out there, making them look older and ungroomed. Then we have the lack of eyebrow or no-tail women. This is almost always associated with underlying health issues, such as a thyroid condition. Check with a physician to determine this. It is a little more challenging, but you can fill them in with tint or eyebrow pencil/powder. Either way, a manicured eyebrow has personality all its own.
EYES
The eyes have it! Same issues with the eyebrows…. They can be a pathetic pair when there is hair loss. They can also be volumized or lengthened with a variety of products. Many women have caught on to Latiesse or other lash growing products like it. When I see someone’s eyelashes I admire, I ask them what they are using. There are products at every price point. There is hope. I have seen my clients eyelashes and eyebrows grow.
MOUTH
Her mouth is like a luscious peach! Yes, if you are Angelina Jolie! Otherwise it is going to range from thin to thick, smooth or with lines. You can exfoliate them with a store bought product or at home with a sugar cube and Vaseline. There are a variety of products for lips. Use concealor to fill in cracks before any lipstick. If all else fails, see the good cosmetic doctor with the big needle…..
TEETH
Speaking of the mouth…How about those teeth? Are they healthy and reasonably white? Yellow teeth age us big time. Be sure to get your teeth cleaned by a professional and smile big!!!
CHIN
The hairs on my chinny-chin-chin! Remove them immediately! People will be looking at these instead of you
