Cleaning the Grill
To make cleanup easier, spray the cooking grill with nonstick spray before adding the food. And before lighting the grill.
After each use, loosen the residue on the grill with a brass-bristled grill brush or crumpled aluminum foil. Then wipe with paper towels.
If using a charcoal grill, remove accumulated ashes frequently.
Clean a charcoal grill thoroughly once a year. Remove the ashes and cooking and charcoal grills. Spray porcelain surfaces with oven cleaner, let stand and wipe out with paper towels. Wash with a mild detergent and water. Rinse and wipe dry.
To clean a gas grill easily, place a large piece of heavy-duty aluminum foil, shiny side down, on top of the cooking grill. Leave the gaps on the sides of the cooking grid open. Ignite the grill and turn all burners on HIGH. Close the lid and let the grill heat 10-15 minutes. Turn all the burners to OFF. Let the grill cool. Wipe off grease inside the lid with paper towels. Crumple the foil and use to brush ash and burned food particles from cooking grid. Remove and brush out bottom tray. Wash the tray and grease catch pan in hot soapy water. Rinse with clear water and dry.
